„Acknowledging the ways in which design is accountable for social and environmental injustice, ATTENDING [TO] FUTURES is a platform for critical perspectives that scrutinize unchallenged disciplinary norms and designerly ways of knowing, being, doing, and imagining in design education, research, and practice.“
As part of the selection committee and program design team, I read through submissions from applicants worldwide. Guided by 3 categories: 1-Contested Histories, 2-Radical Futures, and 3-Critical Practices, we narrowed down the number of applicants to a selected few, whilst creating a structure for the program that would allow not only a versatile experience, with a focus on the diversity of speakers, but also enable the audience to attend as many slots as possible.
Further, I was assigned to accommodate a Keynote speaker at the event (Dr. Luiza Prado de Oliveira Martins), be present for all their questions and needs prior to as well as during the conference, introduce them to the audience at the hybrid event, and write a short bio for the website.
